Must I re-apply every year for the Green Card Lottery to be considered?
The US Immigration law specifies that applicants must submit a new application each year. When you apply, you will have the option to choose a one-year or a two-year submission. If you select the two-year submission, your second year will automatically be submitted if your application is not selected the first year. However, it’s crucial to note application photo(s) should be updated each year. Условно, если у вас номер 5058, то вы пройдете быстро. Если у вас 25268, то есть риск не успеть. Продвинуть свой кейс никак нельзя, все ваши запросы вроде «мне нужно», «политическая ситуация очень risky» никого не интересуют.
Все назначения собеседований идут строго по порядку номеров. Ускорить или перепрыгнуть нельзя.
Мы общались по статусам в чате с «коллегами» по лотерее. Парень из Белоруссии с номером 14*** вступал в коллективный иск юридической фирмы, которая занимается рассмотрением таких дел. У них есть канал на YouTube, если что, называется Morrison&Urena.

Кстати, пока ждали паспорта с готовыми визами, у нас закончились шенгенские визы. Просрочили срок действия на 1 день.
На границе заполнили много бумажек. Всё было максимально вежливо, заплатили на двоих взрослых и ребенка 14 лет (он уже попадает под административную ответственность) около 50 евро. Потратили час времени и спокойно поехали дальше.
Выезжали из Латвии 16 сентября на авто, на тот момент сухопутные границы были открыты. Закрыли их для въезда россиян 19 сентября.

У меня был кейс 16***. Это где-то посередине российских счастливчиков.
По факту за весь год полноценно прошли кейсы до 13*** номера.
После ожидания инвайта на собеседование до мая и осознания, что можно просто пролететь мимо со своей возможностью, пришлось включить все свои сейлз-навыки и начать холодные контакты со всеми возможными US-консульствами.
Задача была перенести кейс в другое место, чтобы интервью банально могло состояться. На Варшаву надежды не было никакой.
Это стало правильным решением. Потому что в начале августа случилось последнее массовое приглашение на интервью в районе 100 человек из России. На этом всё закончилось. Весь август и сентябрь приглашали по 2-3 повторных или каких-то уникальных кейса.
Я написала примерно в 35 посольств
Просто открыла страницу посольств по всему миру и писала в посольства США в Европе, Азии и Латинской Америке. В некоторые просто не было смысла писать, так как они не работали с людьми или туда просто невозможно/опасно долететь.
Я рассылала около 7 писем в день, чтобы понимать, каким образом строится логика ответов. Отсюда у меня было несколько вариантов содержания: подходы трансформировались в зависимости от региона.
Все ответы были по шаблону примерно такие:
В Ереван написала раз пять с просьбой переноса в их посольство, прикладывала ВНЖ, трудовой договор. Ответов не было ни разу.

Who Is Green Card Eligible?
Before registering for the green card lottery, you should determine if you are eligible. You must be eligible by country as well as by education or work experience.
Diversity visas go to natives of selected countries with historically low rates of immigration to the United States in six geographic regions Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, Oceania, and the Southern Americas (including South America, Central America, and the Caribbean nations). The list of countries is subject to change each year and appears on the Diversity Visa entry instructions.
If you were not born in an eligible country, you may still qualify for the DV program if your spouse was born in an eligible country, both of you are named on the same entry, and both of you intend to enter the U.S. at the same time.
Also, if you were born in an ineligible country—but neither of your parents was born in or legal residents of that country at the time of your birth—you may still qualify, assuming one of your parents was born in an eligible country.
In addition to eligibility based on country of birth, you must also meet certain education or work experience requirements in order to register for the green card lottery. Basically, this means that you must have a high school education (or equivalent) or two years’ experience within the past five years in a qualifying occupation.
The U.S. Department of Labor’s O*Net Online database can be used to determine if your work experience is sufficient.

По правилам иммиграционной визы мы должны въехать в США не позднее 6 месяцев после выдачи. Въезд через границу США автоматически активирует выдачу грин-карты и social security номера.
Наша грин-карта не требует заполнения каких-то специальных форм при въезде и выезде из США. Позволяет путешествовать по всему миру, главное не выезжать из США дольше, чем на 6 месяцев, тем самым подтверждая намерения проживания в стране.
Social номер получен, грин-карты где-то по почте идут, до конца декабря должны быть доставлены.

Разница фокуса в письмах принесла результат. Назначили собеседование
До конца рассмотрения оставалось 1,5 месяца.
Надо понимать, что интервью назначают минимум за 2 недели с даты письма, а стандартно за месяц. Еще надо успеть пройти медобследование.
Посольство Латвии ответило, что принимает только резидентов. Но их ответ был от реального человека, нешаблонный, поэтому я сразу продолжила диалог. Объяснила ситуацию в России, еще раз жалобно рассказала про надежды, наличие Шенгенской визы и возможность приехать как только так сразу, и – о чудо.
Консульство Латвии назначило нам собеседование на сентябрь. Нерезидентам. Просто взяло и назначило.
Какие выводы
Играйте в лотерею, шансы есть у всех. А как дальше распоряжаться этими шансами – зависит только от нас.
